One Awkward Dream

I ran crying through the hall way of the Organization members' rooms, stopped at the door that said my name at the top, quickly rushed inside, and slammed the door loudly. While getting a drink, Axel sees what has just happened. Looking both curious and concerned, he sets aside his glass of tea, and cautiously walks towards my room. Gently he taps on the door asking,” Is it alright if I come in?" Moments later he hears a click unlocking the door, he then opens it, and then enters the room slowly. He sees me sitting on my bed, trying to wipe away fresh tears, and sits beside me. He leans forward and tries to look at my face underneath the hair covering it and asks,” What’s the matter? Feeling under the whether?" I swiped away the hair covering my eyes and shivery reply,” I’m tired of being so useless. That's all I am- Xemnas said so..." Axel's expression changes and looks almost relieved as he picks up his head and sighs. "Aaaaaand?." I look at him with my head slightly tilted wondering what he meant.” I know there is something else bothering you, I can tell." I once again put my head down and spill the beans,” People... Have been so cruel to me lately..." Axel looks at me both interested and ready to pick a fight. "What else?" Axel bluntly speaks.” They threw things at me, called me hideous names, and even threatened to kill me..." Axel's expression once again changed only angrily this time and lashes out, “WHAT?! Tell me who those ass holes are so I can beat the crap out of them!!!" I laughed under my breath at the thought of him doing so. He then stares in confusion. "It's alright; you don't have to do that." I meekly whispered. "Well do you want me to put hot sauce in Xemnas's underwear drawer for you at least?" Axel snickered. "Ha ha, no I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." "Alright, alright", Axel quickly replied.

Moments of silence pass by with only the sound of a near by clock ticking away at the seconds of time. "Would you---- like to come with me?", Axel asks. "Hm? Where to?" "Well, usually I just walk around town and sit at the beach to think." I started to slightly blush and tried to hide it without him noticing. "Sure I'd love to come." "Okay, tomorrow then, got it memorized?" I laughed girlishly, pointed at my head and replied,"Yea, I've got it memorized." Axel softly smiles and giggles slightly, gets up from the bed, and walks out of the room shutting the door gently behind him.

The next day had arrived and as I got out of my room, I saw Axel waiting patiently at the end of the hall leaning against the wall with arms crossed loosely. I walked slowly but timidly and stood rite beside him.

Axel and I entered town without a word spoken through the trip. Walking past a few couples and small children frolicking with balloons and ice cream in hand. The sky now a bright yellow and orange, morning had come and gone, and evening was there to stay for the time being. Suddenly and very loudly, my stomach roared for food. Axel glares and I blushed from embarrassment. "If you're hungry we can go eat. I know this pretty good restaurant and-..." He scratches his head unknowing of what to say next. I pick up my head, smile, and say,” That would be nice."

Finally Axel and I reach the restaurant, a nice yet mildly fancy outdoor one. We both ordered the special which was a nice spaghetti and meatball plate. While waiting, we have various light conversations of almost anything that came to mind. The strangest of which was of why they called Blue Cheese "Blue", when it really wasn't.

In no time the two meals are placed in front of the both of us; steaming with freshness and with a scent very exquisite. Axel, trying ever so hard to be a gentleman and not make a mess, accidentally slurps the noodles a few times and gives a smile as if apologizing. I smiled gently every time in reply.

After the meal Axel and I went for a stroll in the park, watching people walk their dogs, when suddenly I spot an ice cream cart, with a man selling a variety of ice cream to adults and children alike. Still not quite full, Axel offers me one. To be polite I gave out a nod and said yes. After buying the ice cream; mine cookies and cream flavor and Axel's a chocolate, we continue walking. Axel, with a devious look on his face dabs some ice cream on the tip of my nose, and I do the same in return with laughs and giggles along the way.

Night fall had already come by the time we reached the beach, the moon full and shining brightly to where you could see clearly. Both finished with our ice creams by now, and full of good food, Axel and I sit quietly at the shore listening to the waves just rush by. The wind was quiet and the ocean glowed beautifully. "This is a very nice place" I complemented. "Yea, Axel says quietly. It's my solitude really." "It must be nice just being able to sit here and think without any distractions" I said, looking at the comparison between mine and Axel's shoes noticing how small mine are. "I'm glad you came... I had a really great time... Thanks." Axel says kindly with his head picked up starring at the ocean waves. I blush and once again try to hide it, this time with my hair. Finally I reply,” I really should be thanking YOU. I've never had such a good time with someone else." I starred at Axel as his hair slowly blew in the wind and shimmer in the moonlight. Things fell silent and the night began to grow old.

I started to slightly bob my head from time to time, trying to conceal the fact that I was tired. Eventually unable to stay awake any longer, I began to lean myself against Axel's shoulder like a pillow and fell asleep. Axel soon notices this and smiles softly soon after which wraps his arm around mine and scoots slightly closer towards me.

Eventually getting tired himself he leans on me as well, his eyes becoming heavy--Eventually closing and falling asleep.

We enjoyed our time together, and in a way wished it wouldn't end as we slept wrapped in each others arms, side by side- On the moonlit beach.
